Librarians as ‘locomotives’ in managing libraries must dare to leave their comfort zone. This means that along with the rapid progress of the times, librarians or library managers do not just carry out routine librarianship work but continue to move towards creativity and innovation in services needed by the community. The library will succeed in its services if the library is easily accessible and has an impact on the quality of life of the community that is getting better. This was said by Labibah when she appeared as a resource person (narrators) at an online national seminar entitled: “The Role of Smart Librarian In Support Digital Library and Electronic-Based Public Services”, on Wednesday (16/8). The Head of UIN Suka Library added that libraries must provide solutions for the community and collaborate with other communities in developing their services. “Dare to change and stop complaining. Nothing is impossible unless we don't want to get out of trouble. If there is a problem, it must be solved, don't be silent because solutions must be sought,” Labibah said, motivating at least 650 participants of the online seminar. The motivation of the participants, who were mostly librarians, library managers, and literacy activists, was further complemented by another speaker, Shinta or familiarly called Bunda Cinta (Psychology and Education Practitioner). She argued that librarians are agents of change who must be able to contribute to building the younger generation. “For me, librarians have an important role as agents of change, before changing others, first change yourself with more quality work productivity. Keep moving to play a role in building an advanced generation,” said Mother Love. Seminar materials can be downloaded through the link http://digilib.isi.ac.id/15144
