Currently, society and information technology products are two things that cannot be separated. The existing phenomenon shows that society is very dependent on information technology products. As a consequence, many activities carried out by the community are supported by information technology products. The development of information technology has brought society into the digital era as it is today. Information, science, movies and songs began to be presented in digital format. This is possible because information technology products make it possible to produce information, science, movies and songs in digital format. Related to information and science, the development of information technology causes information and science to be produced and distributed quickly. Information and knowledge produced in printed and digital formats can be produced and distributed more quickly, either by utilizing advances in remote printing technology, or by utilizing other technologies. These conditions make it easier for people to access information and have greater opportunities. The public is increasingly spoiled by conditions like this because it is easier and faster to access information. In this digital era, what is the role of libraries as institutions that act as information providers for users. Will the convenience offered by information technology products in searching for information and knowledge cause users to leave the library? Or on the contrary, the existence of information technology can be optimized to support the services provided by the library so far. This was explained in the event. National Seminar with the theme “Digital Era: Opportunities and Challenges for Library Development” held on Wednesday, June 5, 2013, at the Multipurpose Building of ISI Yogyakarta. The speakers in this seminar were M. Solihin Arianto, S.Ag., SIP, M.LIS (Lecturer in Library Science at UIN Sunan Kalijaga and Head of UIN Sunan Kalijaga Library) and Umi Proboyekti, S. Kom., M.LIS (Lecturer in Computer Science at UKDW Yogyakarta). The event was hosted by moderator Bandono, SIP.
